
My extensive experience in making Paneer compelled me to try something different, that is, making Paneer out of my own breast milk. Woman attempts to make "human cheese" with her supply of frozen breast milk. Passed its "three months drinkability period" but not yet expired, she thought it would be fun to try. Alas, it doesn't work because human breast milk doesn't contain enough protein to curdle. Even if it had worked, who'd eat the cheese? [via BoingBoing]
for someone who loves paneer, that is the most disgusting and offputtibg thing i've heard of it.
Well, is this any more outlandish than eating the afterbirth or placenta? I've heard reference to this practice occasionally being done. One of our TV chefs did this a number of years ago now - a search for "placenta" and "Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall" should give you some results.
More outlandish than eating the placenta?! Hardly, way way WAY less outlandish, I'd say. After all, who eats the placenta unless it's for shock value? Babies don't, that's for sure. But babies drink breast milk. At least we're talking about something that humans do consume regularly.
I totally had this idea, and didn't tell anyone because it would have been too weird. Obviously, I didn't follow through.

Yeah, I think this is the grossest thing I've heard in a while. Mainly because of the past the 3 month drinkability period aspect.
Stating the obvious: Cheese made out of breastmilk is a great first solid food for a baby.
